HoH and signets
Hi,
I have a question about the Hall of Heroes and the signet you can win. #1- How many times do u have to beat a group to win a signet? #2- Do you have to use PvE (if thats right) to win the signet? Or can u use a PvP char to win a signet? #3- Does everyone win a signet when you win a signet, or is it just 1 person? (by everyone, I mean 1 person/ guild) #4- what would be a good ranger build so I can PvP in hall of heroes (currently I have a R/Me) ya, so, could you answer these, and give me your answer or best oppinion |

ok, so If I understand right...
you only have to beat it once, and 3 out of so many people that won are going to get it. its a team of 8, so 3/8=0.375. 0.375 * 100 = 37.5 so 37 ~38 % of the team will get a signet.... NOT GOOD ODDS anyways, you would have to win roughly 3 to 4 times to wave a signet.. Rangers dont seem to be needed in the hall of heroes, but I KNOW that rangers help alot. oh ya, another question. If you die, do u still have a chance to get a sigil? |

pvp and pve characters can pick up sigils if you die and still manage to win the hoh then everyone comes back tolife and a chest apears which when opened hands out 3 sigils and a piece of armor or a weapon. rangers are common site in the hoh you will probably need to get a guild to get their though i dont see how a pickup team could get their without a bunch of luck playing at odd hours. alot of my guilds current team builds are based around certain nature rituals droped by rangers and it makes us very hard to kill. rangers mesmers also can lay traps uniterupted for some good aoe damage you could look into that .

well, when you go to costom chareter, you have a full 200 (or 300, I can't remember) stat points. so, First thing I do, take HALF of them, and pile it all into marksmanship, which gave me 20 for some reason.

I would drop the marks and bump up the expertise. Expertise makes your skills cost a hell of a lot less, and with that low expertise you are going to be useless. With a level 12 expertise all skills that are ranger skills cost half as much energy. And they recharge faster

ya, but that would drop my marksmanship damadge exponentially. So I would be doing very small damadge, and have high damadge for skills.
But I find that even witha high expertiese, the cost is still the same when you have your cursor over the skill, but it costs less when you use it. I think that it should be implemented into the game that it actually SHOWS how much it costs. |

Dealing damage isn't the key for Rangers in PvP. Instead, the key is to use disruptive skills, generally, to screw around with the enemy.
Try things like Pin Down or Distracting shot. Rangers are extremely versitale, and are able to counter nearly any other class if they are really trying (similar to Mesmers in that way). You can try to be a primary damage dealer, but that's probably not how you'll be most helpful to your team. |
